About The Module:

After participating in this lecture, you will be able to:

- Describe the most common reasons why breastfeeding is not started or why it is prematurely stopped.
- Describe 3 methods to minimize premature discontinuation of breastfeeding.
- Understand several common problems for breastfeeding mothers and provide the best counseling methods to help resolve these problems.


About The Speaker:

Dr. Debra Best is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Primary Care at Duke University Medical Center. She completed her medical school education at Northwestern University and pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center. She is currently the medical director of the pediatric resident continuity clinic as well as the rotation director for the Community Pediatrics & Advocacy rotation. She is actively involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics as the North Carolina Chapter Oral Health Advocate and one of the Chapter CATCH Facilitators.
