Malnutrition in Hospitalized Asian Seniors

Many studies across the world have cited the prevalence of malnutrition and risk of malnutrition ranging from 15% to 54% in hospitalized patients. The prevalence is particularly high among older adults and those with specified morbid conditions known to affect nutritional intake and nutritional status. Asia makes up 60% of the world’s current human population. This article aims to raise clinicians’ awareness of the prevalence of undernutrition among hospitalized seniors living in Asian countries.
