Dr. Lisa M. Renzi, PhD, received her BS, MS, and PhD from the neuroscience and behavior program in the psychology department at the University of Georgia. After completing her doctorate, Dr. Renzi served as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, where she maintained affiliations with the Center for Perceptual Systems, Institute for Neuroscience, and Department of Nutritional Sciences. She has served as a visiting scientist at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University and is currently the principal investigator of the Human Biofactors Laboratory and the co-principal investigator of the Vision Sciences Laboratory at her alma mater, the University of Georgia. Dr. Renzi’s research is focused on the role of lifestyle in human performance. Her recent research has been in the area of nutrition and visual and cognitive function across the lifespan. Dr. Renzi has presented data on the relationship between lutein and visual and neural health across the world, has authored a number of papers on the role of nutrition in vision and cognition, and teaches neuroscience to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Georgia.
