Motivational Interviewing (MI) Series

Help patients discover their motivation for change. The Motivational Interviewing Series is designed to prepare learners for the American Board of Pediatrics' (ABP) Performance Improvement Module on motivational interviewing. These modules review strategies for enhancing the patient’s motivation for change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. The six modules provide an engaging and discovery-based experience.

An approach for addressing ambivalence for change

Description: This module explains the foundation for Motivational Interviewing, and includes a brief introduction to each of the 4 core techniques: expressing empathy and exploring ambivalence, developing the discrepancy, rolling with resistance, and supporting self-efficacy.
