Elena Christofides, MD, FACE, is a physician and the chief executive officer at Endocrinology Associates, Inc, an adult-only specialty practice in Columbus, Ohio. She is also the founder and director of Endocrinology Research Associates, Inc, an independent research facility.

Dr. Christofides earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She next undertook a residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, followed by an endocrinology and metabolism fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Christofides is dual board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.

Dr. Christofides is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. She serves on the Diabetes Algorithm Task Force at AACE and is the past Chair of the Obesity and Nutrition Resource Center.

Dr Christofides is on the board of directors for EndocrineWeb, including a monthly advice column and podcast. She is also a reviewer/editor for several publications in the areas of endocrinology, metabolism and reproductive health. Dr Christofides is known for her patient advocacy, including a patient-focused book on living with HypoParathyroidism. Her patient education video series on nutrition, Shop With The Doc, has won a Silver Medal, the highest honor for a non-commercial entity, in the prestigious Telly Awards.
