Abstract:

In order for athletes to be able to perform to the best of their abilities and for the elderly to either regain or prevent loss of lean body mass, it is important to understand the mechanisms of muscle mass accretion. Especially important is the role of food and exercise. This presentation examines the circumstances under which the greatest muscle protein synthesis occurs.
