In this course, Kasuen Mauldin, PhD, RD will demonstrate best practices related to technology for telehealth visits; apply nutrition-focused physical exams for adults via telehealth in an outpatient setting; and explain challenges related to telehealth and provide suggestions for solutions.Course Objectives:

Kasuen Mauldin, PhD, RD received her PhD in Molecular and Biochemical Nutrition from the University of California, Berkeley. Her prior research training involved using molecular techniques to elucidate biochemical pathways in human metabolism. She received her clinical nutrition training at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, and currently has an affiliation with Stanford Health Care (Stanford, California, USA) as a Clinical Dietitian. Her research focus is in applied clinical nutrition and dietetics, defined as the study of diet and health and the practical application of nutritional science. In her scholarly activities, Dr. Mauldin combines her knowledge of metabolic biology with her clinical expertise as a Registered Dietitian. Her research agenda is to produce scholarly works that (1) inform the evidence-based practice of health care professionals such as Registered Dietitians and other clinicians, and/or (2) serve as resources for educators of health care professionals.
