Michelle Doran is the national manager of the Maternal Child Health Program at Humana Health Plan, one of the largest health plan companies in the country. Ms. Doran earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she concentrated in community health and participated in the AmeriCorps Program. She has a master’s degree in nursing from Regis College, with a specialty in nursing leadership. Ms. Doran has practiced pediatrics and maternal-child health for 17 years in clinical and administrative positions. She has worked in many specialties, including primary care, acute care, academic medicine, pediatric rehabilitation and the health plan industry. She is a manuscript reviewer for Wolters Kluwer health publications and has consulted for several healthcare organizations with documentation and site preparation for Magnet designation. Ms. Doran is an active member of the Organization of Nurse Leaders for Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, the Massachusetts Perinatal Quality Collaborative and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing.
