Course Description:In this course, you’ll learn the definition of metabolic flexibility and sarcopenia; summarize the differences in fat and carbohydrate utilization between sarcopenia and non-sarcopenia; discuss the role of muscle in metabolic dysfunction, inflammation, glucose control, and muscle loss in diabetes; and describe the increased risk of insulin resistance in aging and diabetic skeletal muscle.
