Scott Urquhart is a graduate of the George Washington University PA Program. He has been practicing endocrinology since 1996 with Diabetes and Thyroid Associates in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is a founding member and Past President of the American Society of Endocrine PA’s. PA Urquhart is an Adjunct Clinical Professor for James Madison University’s PA Program and a Clinical Instructor for the George Washington University PA Program. In 2010 he founded and in 2011 launched the U.S’s first-ever endocrine summit designed for PAs/NPs, called (MEDS) Metabolic and Endocrine Disease Summit. In 2008, he was received the award of Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He has extensive experience in educational development and as presenter on many endocrine topics at the state and national level. His many publications have appeared in JAAPA, Advance for PA’s, and Clinician Reviews, additionally her serves on the editorial board for Clinician Reviews.

Ms. Copple is currently practicing as a Family nurse practitioner at the Diabetes and Glandular Disease Clinic in San Antonio, Texas for seventeen years. She is involved in intensive diabetes management including oral and injectable diabetic medications, insulin pumps, obesity management including patients with hyperlipidemia and hypertension. Included in her medical practice is endocrine management including patients with pituitary, adrenal insufficiency, and osteoporosis. Dr. Copple is board-certified in advanced diabetes management, and as a family nurse practitioner, certified diabetes educator, clinical lipid specialist and certified in clinical densitometry.
Dr. Copple received her BSN and MS/FNP from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. She has authored/co-authored several posters and publications relating to diabetes, diabetes management and lipids. She is a member of several national and regional professional organizations including the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the National Lipid Association, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nurses.

Tami Ross is a registered and licensed dietitian, certified and licensed diabetes educator, and a nationally recognized speaker and health and nutrition writer from Lexington, KY. She was 2013 President of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. With over 25 years of experience providing diabetes and nutrition education in a variety of settings, Tami has co-authored nine books and has written more than 100 articles for professional and lay publications. She has been featured in USA Today and on national television shows. Tami was 2008 Diabetes Educator of the Year of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Diabetes Care & Education dietetic practice group. Her passion lies in translating science into practice in ways that are understandable and do-able.
