Course Description:

In this updated course, Heaven Holdbrooks, PNP, CNS, RNC-NIC will review the importance of sensory development & neuroprotective care; describe the positive & negative sensory experiences in the NICU & how providers can impact them; define what is cue-based care and infant-driven feedings; evaluate the literature on cue-based and infant-driven feedings; and describe the steps needed to implement an individualized feeding program in your unit.

She obtained her BSN at the University of California Irvine and her MSN at the University of California Los Angeles with a dual degree in clinical nurse specialist and pediatric nurse practitioner. She has worked in the NICU for the past 10 years and is well-versed in quality improvement initiatives. She is passionate about improving the health and well-being of children and their families.
