Carbohydrate Quality: What Do I Tell My Patients?
Course Description:In this course, John L Sievenpiper, MD, MSc, PhD, FRCPC will review the “carbohydrate-insulin” model and the evidence for “lo-carb” versus “hi-carb” diets; define the 4 domains of carbohydrate quality: Lo-GI/GL/GR, hi-fibre, “food-based” approaches (whole grains, pulses, fruit), and low sugars; assess the clinical evidence supporting the cardiometabolic benefits of the 4 domains of carbohydrate quality; and more!
