In this course, you’ll identify the impact of COVID-19 on people with diabetes mellitus (DM); discuss the effect of DM on COVID-19 infection; review evidence of best practices for clinicians caring for people with DM and COVID-19 to improve outcomes; and examine the role of nutrition to improve outcomes in people with DM and COVID-19. Originally presented as a live webinar on June 24, 2021.

Dr Christofides received her medical degree from the Ohio State University, College of Medicine, and completed a residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center, both in Columbus. She advanced her training and experience in a two-year fellowship in the Section of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans.
