Course Description:

Dr Eileen O’Grady is a certified Nurse Practitioner and Wellness Coach. She is the Founder of The School of Wellness and an expert on intentional change. She is an author and editor of two textbooks, Advanced Practice Nursing: An Integrative Approach and Intentional Therapeutic Relationships: Advancing Caring in Health Care a how-to book on placing relationships at the center of health care. Her most recent book, Choosing Wellness: Unconventional Wisdom for the Overwhelmed, the Discouraged, the Addicted, the Fearful or the Stuck, is her most personal.

Penni Davila Hicks is the Medical Science Liaison Section Manager in Scientific and Medical Affairs at Abbott Nutrition. Prior to joining Abbott, Dr Hicks was an Instructor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where her research focused on using stable isotopes to measure nutrient metabolism along with using body composition techniques and other anthropometric tools to assess growth in premature infants, term infants, and children Dr Hicks earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Foods from the University of Houston, completed a dietetic internship at Texas Woman’s University, and earned a PhD in Nutritional Biology at the University of California – Davis. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Nutrition at the USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr Hicks has presented her research and other nutrition-related topics to health care professionals at many national and international sites. She has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Woman’s University, and Rice University.
