Course Description:

The Society for Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) hosted a virtual conference, titled Pressure Injury Detection, Prevention and Treatment Workshop, which is now archived and available for a maximum of 3 hours of CME/CE. 
 
This education is supported by an Abbott Nutrition medical education grant. 

Course Objectives:

This activity is designed for all healthcare professionals involved in the prevention and management of pressure injuries. 
 
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:  
  • Describe key updates in the evidence related to technology for detection, prevention, and treatment of pressure injuries  
  • Explore the role of support surfaces, heel protection, and turning and positioning technologies, prophylactic dressings, patient monitoring systems, negative pressure wound therapy, nutritional supplementation, low friction co-efficient linen systems, and incontinence management in pressure injury detection, prevention and treatment.
