Gina O’Toole is a Neonatal Dietitian at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange, CA. She has played an integral role in the development of the Surgical NICU at CHOC, participated in institutional research, and developed nutrition and feeding guidelines for surgical neonates diagnosed with short bowel syndrome/IF. Gina has participated in multiple quality improvement initiatives through the Vermont Oxford Network, the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Consortium, and the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative. Additionally, she has authored the chapter “Short Bowel Syndrome and Intestinal Failure” in the 3rd edition of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Pocket Guide to Neonatal Nutrition. Gina is an invited speaker on both the local and national stages with a nutritional emphasis on prematurity, surgical infants, and short bowel syndrome.

Heather Erzen has worked as a Registered Dietitian in pediatrics for over 15 years, including 10 years in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Her passions include preventing and treating pediatric malnutrition in hospitalized patients, supporting new parents in their lactation goals, and the wonders of micronutrients.
