Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is increasingly being recognized and diagnosed among infants and children. While the exact cause is unknown, food allergies appear to play a role. This article provides an overview of the history, epidemiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, pharmacologic therapy and nutrition management of EoE.
