ESPEN Guidelines on Nutritional Support for Polymorbid Medical Inpatients
Date: | 12 February 2024 |
A video summary of ESPEN’s updated guidelines on nutrition support for polymorbid medical inpatients. The high prevalence of disease-related malnutrition in polymorbid medical inpatients is associated with increased morbidity, disability, short and long-term mortality, impaired recovery from illness, and cost of care. The updated guidelines include practical, non-disease-specific recommendations in nutrition screening and assessment, nutrition intervention, oral nutritional supplementation, and discharge and transitional care for patients with or at risk of malnutrition.
