MIKE TRENELL, PHD, MBA, MSC, BSC (HON.), FRCP (EDIN.)
Dr. Mike Trenell is a clinical scientist focused on the prevention, management, and remission of long-term conditions. He has published >130 peer reviewed papers and founded Changing Health, a digital health company, to translate science into care. Changing Health provides the national digital education platform for the UK. Called Healthy Living, the program is free to everyone living with type 2 diabetes in the UK (circa. 4million people).
Specializing in metabolism, Dr Trenell completed a PhD in Neurogenetics and Biochemistry at the University of Sydney, Australia. He received an MBA from the Durham University Business School in England and retrained in Artificial Intelligence at MIT.
Dr. Trenell’s previous positions have included Founder and CEO of the UK National Medicine Horizon Scanning Centre; National Institute for Health Research Senior Fellow and a Diabetes UK RD Lawrence Fellow. He has served as a research board member for Diabetes UK; on the editorial board for Diabetes, Chairs the UK National Digital Health Doctoral Training Centre and has developed clinical guidelines and pathways with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence for metabolic disease and type 2 diabetes.
