Mary Russell, MS, RDN, LDN, FAND
Mary Russell, MS, RDN, LDN, FAND, is a medical science liaison of US Hospital Products Medical Affairs at Baxter Healthcare and a lecturer at the Chicago Medical School. Previously, she was director of the Department of Clinical Nutrition at the University of Chicago Medical Center, director of nutrition services at Duke University Hospital, and (also at Duke) the trauma/surgery dietitian clinician and an adult nutrition support team dietitian clinician.
She is immediate past president of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; she has been an Academy member since 1984 and has also served as Academy treasurer and a member or chair of multiple committees. She is past chair of the Dietitians in Nutrition Support Dietetic Practice Group and past president of the North Carolina Dietetic Association. She was honored with an Academy Medallion award in 2009 and the Illinois Academy Outstanding Dietitian award in 2018. She has been an ASPEN member since 1988, has served as a member of a number of ASPEN committees including membership, conference planning, clinical practice, and publications, and served on the Board of Directors and as chair of the dietetics section.
Russell earned a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Marquette University and Master of Science in nutritional sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
