In this video, Christine Loscher, PhD, discusses normal immune development in infants; reviews the dysregulation in the immune system that results in allergic responses; and describes how we can manipulate the immune system to overcome this dysregulation.

Loscher obtained her PhD in Immunology at NUI, Maynooth, and a Health Research Board Fellowship to pursue postdoctoral studies at Trinity College Dublin. Research continued at the Institute of Molecular Medicine at St James Hospital, before starting a permanent academic position at Dublin City University, leading the Immunomodulation Research Group at DCU. Her focus includes discovering new anti-inflammatory/anti-allergic compounds and ingredients for the pharma and food industry.
